A recent Ofsted inspection means that all of Haringey’s nursery, secondary and special schools – and close to 90 percent of primary schools - are now rated as either ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by the schools inspectorate. The latest inspection took place at Rowland Hill nursery school in Tottenham where the nursery received a rating of ‘good’.
In their report, Ofsted describe Rowland Hill as “a happy school where children enjoy learning”, in which “all groups of children make good progress” and a “wide and stimulating range of activities” is provided by staff. The nursery was rated as ‘Good’ in all four inspection categories: leadership and management; behaviour and safety of pupils; quality of teaching; and achievement of pupils.
The inspection is Rowland Hill’s third visit by Ofsted in the last 16 months, following previous appraisals of their childcare and children’s centre performance, both of which were also rated as ‘Good’. Dr Julie Vaggers, headteacher at Rowland Hill said: “We are all absolutely delighted by our recent Ofsted inspection. Being rated as ‘Good’ for our nursery, childcare and children’s centre services is testament to the hard work of all the staff in creating a fully integrated service here at Rowland Hill. I would also like to thank our parents, children and the wider school community for being so supportive throughout this process.”
Cllr Ann Waters, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing said: “I’d like to congratulate Rowland Hill on a fantastic achievement, which now means that all nursery schools in Haringey – like all of our secondary, special and the vast majority of our primary schools - are rated as either ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
