Hayley Wilkinson, General Manager at Harper Fields Care Home in Balsall Common recently completed a sponsored skydive to raise funds for charity, Marie Curie supports those in need at terminal phase of life and are a wonderful support to patients and families.

Hayley was also joined on the jump by Lorraine Chilwell whose husband died to cancer last year and was supported by the charity on the last days of his life. He was a much-loved Head of Maintenance at Harper Fields for over 7 years. Hayley’s brother Tony Wilson also supported with getting involve in the jump.

The skydive took place on 6th August, where Hayley dived through the clouds in a tandem skydive in honour of the charity and raised a total of £700.00 with the support of sponsorship from donations. She has been a General Manager at Harper Fields care home for the last 3 and half years. Residents, their relatives and staff at the home were cheering them on as they aimed to beat their target goal.

Hayley said: “My goal for taking part in this challenge was to raise awareness of the fantastic job Marie Curie does for the people and the families they support. Everyone at Harper Fields has been really supportive; I’m usually a little afraid of heights but it was for such a good cause so that kept me focused.

“I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
