The Birmingham-based blood cancer charity took the decision to call off the tournament, which includes former players from Aston Villa, Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers, at the Barclaycard Arena, in the city, as the event – due for July 11 – might not be seen as profitable enough for the blood cancer charity after ticket sales failed to reach last year's levels.
A statement confirming the decision said: "Cure Leukaemia regrets to announce that this year’s Club Legends Cup has been cancelled.
Pre-tournament ticket sales have not reached the same levels as last year and Cure Leukaemia would like to thank the players who had committed to appearing in the tournament, and everyone who had either bought tickets or placed bids to play alongside the legends, for their support. All purchased tickets will be refunded.

Refunds for tickets bought through The Ticket Factory will be automatically applied to the purchasing card within 28 days.
