NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day is set to be bigger than ever at Edgbaston on Saturday, August 29, with record ticket sales confirmed for the biggest day in domestic cricket. For the third consecutive year, Edgbaston will set a new record NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day attendance, with 24,300 spectators expected on Saturday with the Turkish Airlines Temporary Stand - which was used at the third Investec Ashes Test Match in July - retained following huge demand.
Colin Povey, Chief Executive of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, said: "Finals Day has become one of the biggest days out in the British sporting calendar and the vast majority of tickets for this year's event had sold out even before the Quarter Finals.
We have also seen a 25 per cent increase in ticket sales for Birmingham Bears group games at Edgbaston this season, and are thrilled to have the opportunity to defend our title at home in front of a record crowd.
Edgbaston is the home of Finals Day until 2018 and we're looking forward to staging another memorable occasion for the supporters in attendance."
Defending champions Birmingham Bears will start NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day on their home ground against 2013 winners Northamptonshire Steelbacks.
Hampshire and Lancashire Lightning will then contest the second semi-final before the winners meet in the Final.
In between the two Semi-Finals, the mascots of all 18 NatWest T20 Blast teams will compete on the field in the annual Mascot Race, with Sky Sports David 'Bumble' Lloyd commentating on the race live inside the stadium.
