Today, Saturday May 16, sees participants from around the country gather at Birmingham's Bullring, to mark National Good Gestures Day 2015.

Young people's charity, Fixers, and local legend Stephen Sutton, who lost his three and a half year battle with cancer last year, had a dream to recruit a team of young people to give out free hugs with the sole aim of making people smile. Three days before he died he asked that it become a national day.

The Bullring, in Birmingham, will host the annual event that sees young people gather to give out free hugs, high-fives, handshakes and fist bumps in memory of Stephen Sutton.

To spread hiss message of kindness, you can support his National Good Gesture Day  today, at Bullring between 11am and 3pm, giving one simple but powerful gift in his memory, a hug.

Maggie Foggett, Marketing Manager at Bullring, says: "We are proud to host such a special event at Bullring in memory of Stephen Sutton. We ask that people join us on National Good Gestures Day to make it bigger and better than ever."

You can register to participate in National Good Gestures Day 2015 via:  www.fixers.org.uk/good-gesture/get-involved.php

Hammerson, joint owner of the Bullring, is supporting the initiative through other centres in its portfolio of UK shopping centres, with WestQuay in Southampton also hosting the event.
