On Sunday 3 September, children aged 9-16 from across the city and Warwickshire are invited to audition to be part of the legendary Belgrade panto. A total of 32 children will be selected to be part of the show, with the region’s most talented young performers making up three teams of eight, plus one full team of reserves.

It was announced that the city of Malmö is to host next year's 68th Eurovision song contest, following Sweden's victory in Liverpool in May. The coastal town was selected ahead of the country’s capital, Stockholm, after organisers were said to have discussions with several other cities.

It was a case of rock meets rock as legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi was presented with a life-sized sculpture of a prehistoric fossil named after him.

Palaeontologist and heavy metal fan Mats Eriksson had previously discovered the 469 million-year-old fossil of an eel-like marine vertebrate in Russia – and had no hesitation in naming the new species Drepanoistodus Iommii after his rock hero. And Mr Eriksson was invited to Velvet Music Rooms on Broad Street, Birmingham, from his home in Sweden to present Tony with a life-sized model of the fossil, specially made for the occasion by sculptor Esben Horn. 

Jamaican Americans Sheryl Lee Ralph, an Emmy Award winner and star of “Abbot Elementary,” and  Kerry Washington, known for her role as “Olivia Pope” in the television series, “Scandal,” have been chosen to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They are among a group of honourees selected from hundreds of nominations at a meeting of the Walk of Fame Selection Panel on June 16, 2023. The selections were later validated by the board of directors of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on June 21, 2023.

Indians are reacting sharply to Bollywood's remake of Pasoori, a Pakistani pop song which became a smash hit in both nations last year. Originally sung by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, the quirky number featured in Coke Studios Pakistan - the country's longest-running music show.

An Indian version of the song released to mixed reviews. Many listeners said they found the rendition unnecessary, but others said they loved the feel of the new version.
