With over 470,000 pure-electric cars now on UK roads, plus over 385,000 plug-in hybrids, public attention is increasingly turning to the UK’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. 

In view of this, Admiral Car Insurance has teamed up with Zap-Map, the UK’s leading EV charge point mapping service, to shine a light on the towns and cities that are currently best served for the two quickest types of charging points, known as rapid and ultra-rapid chargers.

LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) is unveiling three platinum electric TX taxis, which will be seen in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant today (5th June).

According to research commissioned by Europcar the recent rise in the cost of electricity has put off 3 in 10 buyers from purchasing an electric vehicle in the next 12-months.

Nearly half of those surveyed (47%) also said that the purchase cost of the vehicles was deterring them.

Pharmaserv, owner of the Behringwerke site in Marburg, Germany, has enlisted the help of on-demand shared transport company, Liftango, to resolve parking issues across their 67.4-hectare site.

A road-racing car built by Mercedes-Benz in 1955, and kept by them ever since, has been secured by British expert Simon Kidston for a client. Kidston had lobbied the board of the German company for 18 months to consider selling the car "that would never be sold".

In an invitation-only event held at short notice in conditions of great secrecy at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart on 5 May 2022, Kidston's bid of €135m secured the car for an unnamed collector.
