The pre-National Curry Week party got off to a great start when Thornbury Air Cadets smashed their own Poppadomathon© world record. Overseen by Flight Sergeant Daniel Rouse, the squadron managed to beat last year's record of 30.26 miles in 30 minutes, by collectively running 33.5 miles in 30 minutes. The challenge is just one of the fun ways the event invites the curry loving public to celebrate the cuisine and culture in order to raise funds for the alleviation of poverty and suffering worldwide. This year, the focus is aimed particularly at water projects, to help the plight of the 1.4 million children dying from water-related diseases every year.
Other events planned up and down the country include special dinners, record-breaking attempts, raffles, and auctions, details of which can be found at: http://www.nationalcurryweek.org.uk/
The 18th National Curry Week will take place from 12-18 October 2015 supported by Sainsbury's, Amira Rice, Bhai Cider and Kingfisher Premium Lager Beer.
