A student of “A” Level at Iqra University decides to approach the court for seeking compensation amount of Rs. 2.5 million from university management against wasting his time and amount of hefty fee for studies.
A case of misappropriation at Iqra University is unearthed when a student named Asfand Yar Khan s/o M. Mukhtar Khan claims that the university management expelled him for unjustified reason despite paying the hefty amount of fee about four year long “A” level course for last three years.
Sources informed that the university management to fill its currency bucket, allowed an admission to a student who was earlier not full filling the criteria. However after receiving the hefty amount for last three years under head of tuition fee, the management expelled the student from institution after framing unjustified charges.
The reliable resources informed that the Iqra University Karachi Campus gave admission to Mr. Yar round three years ago; however after the transfer of student’s father from Karachi to Islamabad, Asfand Yar was handed over to Islamabad Campus for completing his education (BBA).
After issuing the student card and completing all formalities, the management learnt that the student Mr. Yar could not clear all subjects in A-level exams, while the student was of the view that he was not aware about the fact however was willing to clear the said subject in next exams. Mr. Yar is currently studying B.Sc in a local Govt college of Islamabad and seeking justice from university management.
Asif Jasra, the Deputy Registrar of University maintained that the matter was decided by the Karachi Campus, adding “we already informed the parents of victim that he is not able to get admission because of his failure to clear a subject”, he said.
He further added that the university will fully support to him if student is willing to continue his studies, “This matter actually falls under Karachi Campus and it will also be solved by the same campus”, Jasra added.
