Dating a loyal football fan can be an exhilarating adventure, filled with passionate matchday rituals, heated discussions about tactics, and the electric atmosphere of stadiums. However, when will their devotion come in the way of your relationship?

SeatPick’s survey exposed a shocking number of Aston Villa fans who would refuse to date a rival team supporter — one in three (32.7%). Many couldn’t sacrifice attending a football game even if it meant missing their partner’s birthday party, as more than one in five (21.7%) have admitted to skipping the celebrations for a live match.

Not only this, but the study found that over one in six Aston Villa fans (17.4%) have ghosted a date for not liking football, and one in ten (10.9%) have cancelled a date to attend a match — suggesting that many fans will choose the beautiful game over dating.

In the modern age, for some, football takes precedence over some relationships — as almost one in five (18.4%) have streamed a game during an anniversary celebration. SeatPick’s  jaw-dropping statistics found that the beautiful game interferes during dates, with as many as one in nine (11.8%) Aston Villa supporters admitting to streaming a match during a first date — raising the question, is it love at first sight, or love for the game?

Last but not least, the results show that 1 in 20 Aston Villa fans (5.4%) have named their child after a player, proving their undeniable loyalty to the team.
