UB40 featuring Ali Campbell will play an intimate London show next month.
Campbell and band will celebrate the induction of UB40 into the Music Walk Of Fame in Camden with an exclusive concert at KOKO on September 4. Tickets for the special performance go on general sale at 10am on Friday (August 18). Announcing the news with a post on social media, Campbell said: "To celebrate the induction to the Walk Of Fame London.
"We will be playing an exclusive one-off intimate show at KOKO Camden on Monday 4th September celebrating the UB40 legacy and beyond. Tickets are extremely limited for this event, which will be a guaranteed night to remember, might even have a few special guests along the way… any guesses?"
UB40 are one of 11 new spots to be placed on the famed growing trail, which celebrates music's contribution to culture, society and the lives of people from all around the world. It currently pays tribute to David Bowie, Soul II Soul, Madness, The Who and Amy Winehouse.
Between September 4 and 9, new record-shaped plaques will also be laid for Janis Joplin, promoter Harvey Goldsmith, Gordon Mac (founder of Kiss FM), DJ Paul 'Trouble' Anderson, The Sugarhill Gang, Eddy Grant, Buzzcocks, The Kinks, Billy Bragg and Shalamar. Spots will be revealed gradually, culminating with the new free all-day Camden Music Festival, which takes place on September 9.
UB40 featuring Ali Campbell will also play Dreamland Margate on September 30 as part of the Margate Summer Series, following an appearance at the St Albans edition of Pub In The Park. In 2022, they released the 'Unprecedented' LP, which arrived following the death of Campbell's bandmate Terence Wilson (aka Astro) in late 2021.
