University of Birmingham Sport (UBSport) will be hosting their International Rules – Gaelic Football v Aussie Rules, to be played on Saturday, June 13.
At their Bournbrook Pitches, they will celebrate the end of the academic year and all you have to do is choose your side by supporting either Gaelic Football or Aussie Rules, then cheer them on as you watch the teams battle it out in an exciting and fast paced spectacle like nothing you have seen before.
A hybrid game, International Rules combines the round-ball, square pitch and goal scoring of Gaelic Football with the crunching tackles and mark taking of Aussie Rules. The result: a fast, free flowing and highly physical encounter perhaps best described as a combination of football, rugby and wrestling. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to see these two incredible sports showcased.
Gaelic Football will be heading in to the match wanting to claim the title following Aussie Rules becoming back to back champions in 2013 and 2014.
The evening will also boast a pitch-side Raising the Bar, half time entertainment and prize give-aways at the free-to-watch event.
