Launched in 2008 by Petricca, Walk The Moon has steadily made a name for itself as an unsigned band over the last few years, attracting a broad mix of fans who have happily submitted to a pre-show face-painting ritual conducted by band members to get everyone into the communal spirit of the event. “Sometimes it’s like, ‘Dude, what are you doing here? How have you heard of us?’” marvels guitarist Eli Maiman. “But they're there, they've got face paint on, and they’re playing air guitar. It's awesome. We just create the music we love and hope that other people love it, too.”
Walk The Moon return with new single ”Shut Up And Dance” on 31ST May, followed by their second long-player “Talking Is Hard”, out 8th June on RCA.
Lead single “Shut Up And Dance” is an undeniable pop-rock gem, an anthem in waiting. It’s an ode to freeing yourself from the shackles of self-consciousness and embracing the present. A live favourite already, it’s set to be one of the most exciting singles of the year.
Beyond the single, the album “Talking Is Hard” has new musical elements that take the band into uncharted territory. Raw vocals and new wave hooks mix with heavier riffs that combine the old with the new, revealing more with every listen. Songs of growth and survival combine with a musical restlessness to create a brilliant second album from this Ohio four-piece.
