Residents and visitors to Stockland Green are invited to take part in the annual Stockland Green World Cup Cricket Day this Bank Holiday Monday at Highcroft Community Centre. Erdington district chair, Cllr Josh Jones said: “This event is one of many organised by the Stockland Green Ward Advisory Board, a group of committed local people and professionals who meet regularly to develop facilities and services which are of benefit to the area.
“Cricket is a brilliant way of engaging with people from different communities and we will use the event to showcase Stockland Green and the great services and facilities we have access to.
“Although the game is taken very seriously by some participants, the real meaning of the day is about bringing residents and local organisations together and having great fun. Everyone is welcome and there are no barriers to taking part. This is a real family day out.”
There will be four teams – England, India, Pakistan and the West Indies – and players will be drawn at random.
Anyone wishing to take part is encouraged to register their interest with Mary Kennedy, Partnership & Development Officer for Stockland Green on 0121 748 8125 / 07818027792 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
