A bakery in London will be opening its doors on Christmas Day and giving out free coffees and pastries.
The Dusty Knuckle has posted on Instagram to say their Dalston bakery will be open for three hours on Christmas Day for people who are either alone or need support. The popular bakery said on Instagram: "We are thinking about opening on Christmas Day from 9am-12pm giving out free coffees and pastries.
“This is for people who are either alone on Christmas Day or who don’t feel great on the day for whatever reason." The bakery will be warm and cosy, with some Christmas music playing.
The bakery's post added: "We’ll have some tunes on and the place warmed up. Mainly we are just up for a chat." They have asked people to message them directly on Instagram to give the bakery an idea of how many people may be turning up on Christmas morning, and prepare ahead.
One free hot drink and one pastry will be available per person during the Christmas Day opening. Comments replying to the post have praised the Dusty Knuckle for the idea. One person wrote: "I can’t imagine for a second there won’t be enough demand. This is such a great idea.
“Nice one."
