A lot has been discussed about the heavy spenders in the transfer market. However, this feature looks at the biggest profit makers during the recently concluded transfer window.
According to the numbers presented by SafeBettingSites.com, Spanish giants Barcelona made the most significant positive gain in the window among the Big Five leagues, with profits amounting to €102m.

Most of their incomings were free or on loan, and they received decent amounts for the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann. La Liga side Villarreal is next on the list with a €97m profit owing to the big-money departures of Nicholas Jackson and Pau Torres.
Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion have earned a reputation for shrewd transfer business. Once again, they made a hefty profit of €92m, mostly down to the record sale of Moises Caicedo to Chelsea.
RB Leipzig was relatively busy in the market as they sold €240.7m worth of talent and invested a hefty €150.2m back into the squad. Overall, the German club made a profit of €88.2m.
Next on the list is French side Olympique Lyon on the back of a €87.9m profit. The French club sold the likes of Bradley Barcola, Castello Lukeba, and Romain Faivre.
The next five clubs on the list are Atalanta (87m), Stade Rennais (85.6m), Eintracht Frankfurt (84.9m), Wolves (73.7m), and Inter Milan (68).
When also considering clubs outside the Big Five, Championship side Southampton was the most profitable club during the recent summer transfer window. However, the Saints wouldn’t be so thrilled about their profits as they were forced to sell most of their top talents because of their relegation from the Championship.
Overall, the Saints made a €156.8m profit in the summer window. Another noteworthy profitable club outside the Big Five was Sporting Lisbon of Portugal. Sporting made a profit of €69.5m in the summer window.
