October marked a sad occasion for St, Basil’s ‘Rough Sleeper's Initiative Team’ as Brian Edwards, a much-loved member of the team, was set leaving to pursue new opportunities.
Where the Rough Sleeper's Initiative (RSI) team takes a loss, Milner Court makes a gain, as Brian will be moving to the Transition Service Team to work directly with young people who have complex needs.
To celebrate Brian's time, Black History Month and to show gratitude to his colleagues, Brian displayed his "Black People in Britain Exhibition" at St. Basil’s Head Office, covering thousands of years of the Black presence in Britain, with activities, games, and resources for all staff. "I have thoroughly enjoyed every second of my time spent here- the job, my clients and all of my colleagues,” Brian says.
“I have been very fortunate to be part of such a vital, caring and wonderful supportive RSI team, as well as to have been led by such an excellent Manager, Vanessa.
“I hope I have made a difference and had a positive influence on all whom I have encountered on my journey in St Basil’s so far and hope to continue to add value, and support St Basil’s to provide its most essential and needed services." Brian has indeed made a huge impact on young people, the community and on his colleagues.
All wished him farewell on the RSI Team as well as welcoming him to our Transition Service!
