Law firm DMH Stallard is mourning the untimely passing of Kate Henning, a partner of over 24 years who died after a short illness.
Kate (pic.) was a highly respected lawyer who played a key role in the firm’s regional real estate practice. She had extensive experience in commercial property work and for many years acted for utility companies, providing specialist advice to electricity distribution network operators and gas transporters.
She was an exceptional commercial real estate lawyer, mentor and friend to many in the firm. Kate joined DMH Stallard in 1999 after graduating from the University of Sussex with a BA in American History and an MA in History.
She lived in Sussex and over her time with the firm worked in both the Gatwick and Brighton offices. Richard Pollins, Managing Partner at DMH Stallard, said: “This terribly sad news comes as a great shock to everyone at DMH Stallard and will be felt deeply by colleagues, clients, and the broader business community.
“Kate was a brilliant lawyer, and an incredibly popular member of our property team with a great sense of humour. She always gave her time to help others. She was one of the firm’s long serving lawyers and someone I’ve known and worked with closely for over two decades.
“We have lost a very dear friend and valued colleague. She will be greatly missed by so many, including her clients who I know will share in the grief we are all feeling.
“Kate’s memory will remain in the hearts and minds of those who had the privilege of working alongside her and benefiting from her legal expertise. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very difficult time.”
