Despite heavy showers, there was no stopping people from celebrating as Jamaica 0121 Festival took its place in Aston Park, in Birmingham, with music, food and cultural events from local, national and from abroad.
Making its mark for Jamaica’s 61 years since the Caribbean country gained independence from Britain, the stately surroundings of the Aston Hall, the free annual event saw an array of stalls from local businesses.
This year's event also paid homage to the 75th anniversary of the Windrush Generation and the first arrival in the country of people from the Caribbean, who were invited to play their part in the rebuilding of a war-torn Britain.
With a line-up which included the Queen of Lovers Rock, and Carrol Thompson, Etana, Mike Anthony, Kofi and Christine McNab, there was something for anyone who was looking to bring the Caribbean’s tropical vibes to the city.
And again, despite the rain, there was no stopping Jamaica’s party in the Park
