Miss Caribbean UK 2016, was held at the Broadway Theatre, Catford, SELondon on 3.12.2016. The event was very well attended, with a near capacity crowd enjoying a night of culture and entertainment. The contestants showcased one of their many talents with a fantastic chroegraphed opening dance section, which had a surprise ending with the founders joining the girls onstage and dancing to a few bars of the “electric Boogie”.
The Artist; (Benjai, Jay Jay Born to sing, Record Heads, Pauline Catlyn from fron sugar (Backed by Sacha-Lee Catlyn andIfemi Animashaun), Aaron Soul-Anyia and the Myself UK Dance Company) were extremely well received by the audience and kept the enegy high all through the night.
The event also featured a VIP reception for the sponsons, judges and Diplomatic officers from Caribbean Consulates in attendance. This validates the aims ofMiss Caribbean United Kingdom,which was set up as an event to; promote all the different Caribbean countries under one umbrella. The event uses a pageant to promote, educate, inspire and celebrate the historical and cultural impact of the Caribbean within the United Kingdom. By getting this message to our communities in the UK, we hope realise our objective, which is to, Positive promote the Caribbean.

Wow! I really don't know where to start. I have brought the crown back home to Birmingham. Thank you so much Amy Melissa Harris, 2015 Miss Caribbean UK Queen. Words cannot describe how I'm feeling right now, I don't think it's quite sunk in yet. Being crowned was definitely a surreal feeling... I am so overwhelmed by all of your kind messages and support. MCUK has definitely been a life changing experience. I would like to say a massive thank you to Jacqui Brown and Clayton Brown for giving me this wonderful opportunity and to our fantastic mentor Natina Mae Whitter. You've been brilliant for guiding me in the right direction throughout.
Thank you to our amazing choreographers Kloe Dean and Jazmyn Raikes. Big shout out to Latenda Hair and the Team Soni Makeover for my wonderful make up. Thank you to all the judges who believed in me and to all the sponsors for my lovely gifts. I'd like to also congratulate all the contestants as you have all done an amazing job, we have all climbed upon this journey together and will continue to grow and inspire one another, continue to keep on shining ladies. And not forgetting my family for your awesome support and encouragement you have all been so supportive and been there every step of the way with me thank you all for believing in me.
