The latest phase of a project to make Birmingham’s Hackney Carriage fleet cleaner is now underway. Five cabs were booked into Harborne Garage to have new LPG (liquefied petroleum gas)-fuelled engines fitted as part of the NOx Reduction Champions Project – a partnership between the garage, engine manufacturer KMS and Birmingham City Council. The partnership is being further supported through collaboration with an LPG Industry representative body, Autogas Ltd.
Motorists and cyclists are set to benefit after the government announced how £50 million of funding will repair nearly 1 million potholes across the country over the next 12 months. 13 councils in West Midlands will receive a share of £5.7 million, helping to remove around 108,000 potholes from local roads during this financial year. The funding has been made available as part of the £250 million Pothole Action Fund included in last month’s Budget, which will fix over four million potholes by 2020/21.

The organisers of the show, which will be held for the first time this year at Silverstone, Northants, carried out a survey among its social media followers to see which performance car would be identified as the most iconic model in Japanese car culture.
