National charity Living Streets, which campaigns for pedestrians welcomed North Dorset MP Simon Hoare’s Private Member’s Bill calling for a ban on pavement parking in England and Wales as the bill received its first reading in the House of Commons.
Vintage vehicles will be pulling up at Bantock House Museum later this month for an annual rally celebrating classic cars built in Wolverhampton. The Turner sports cars were built locally between 1955 and 1966. Jack Turner (1916-2011) initially created a few bespoke chassis at his family home before opening a factory in Merridale Street which later moved to Pendeford Airport.
Rising Warwickshire cricket star Sam Hain was bowled over when he received a new car from Motorpoint. The 19 year-old right hander, who become the youngest player in Warwickshire CCC history to score a First Class century and double century last season, collected the keys for his shiny new Hyundai i30 1.6 CRDi from the Birmingham branch of the UK’s leading car supermarket.
Birmingham Airport has become one of the first British airports to join the Electric Highway and offer fast charging for electric motorists. Green energy company Ecotricity powers their Electric Highway with 100% renewable energy from the wind and the sun, allowing 35 different models of electric and plug-in hybrid cars to recharge in between 20 and 30 minutes.
