Off the back of a successful in-person event this October, the UK’s largest games trade fair will be returning for two events in 2022 – EGX Birmingham (formerly EGX Rezzed) on 3rd-5th March 2022 and EGX London on 22-25 September, both in partnership with Virgin Media.

This year’s EGX was a very special event for fans and developers alike, bringing the video games community back together for their first in-person event since 2019.

An opportunity to take the first steps within the video games sector will enable students to work on a live video game already in production as part of a new intensive training course developed against a backdrop of growing demand during the pandemic.

The Digital Skills Academy’s video games production bootcamp has been designed in partnership with Create Central, the West Midlands trade body set up to turbo-charge the region’s film TV and games industries, whose members are working to widen the talent pool.

German indie game studio, Serious Bros., will feature their newly launched Imagine Earth - Planetary Colonization at EGX 2021. Additionally, the studio will show their new gameplay mode Daily Missions, new Open Space DLC, and announce the launch date for Playstation 4 and Playstation 5.

In this ultimate sci-fi simulator, players can take control over an entire planet and raise entire cities from the ground - build and supply colonies on distant planets, produce and trade goods into space, form alliances or wage economic war, all to preserve your colonists, and their quality of life.

Virgin Media has announced that the UK’s leading ultrafast broadband network provider has teamed up with Mediatonic’s ‘Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout’ to bring the ultimate gaming experience to EGX 2021 at London’s ExCel Centre between Thursday 7 – Sunday 10 October.

To kick-start the partnership, Virgin Media’s stand at EGX 2021 will be the only place that attendees can play Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout at the event.
