The Drum Arts/Theatre Centre presents Stars of Afro Beat an amazing gateway night into the world of Afro Beat. This vibrant, energetic and colourful music as spawned a new wave of Artists and DJs, whom have been inspired by the legends of Fela Kuti and Hugh Masekela. Afro Beat is a fusion of traditional Nigerian and Ghanaian, Yoruba music, with modern up-tempo groove consisting of funk and jazz, is the key to getting crowds moving across the nations’ dance floors and club scene.
On Saturday March 7 stars of Afro Beat will pay homage to this great music genre, as we present national Afro Beat artist, DJ Edu along with celebrity performances from Ezi Emela and Dotstar. With two surprise guests from the world of Afro Beat, supported by the Midlands own DJ's Ade from Radio Sandwell and Newstyle Radio's DJ Wale.
