Employees at a West Midlands developer have helped to provide Christmas cheer for those in need this Christmas, after volunteering to wrap festive gifts for children in the region.
Staff at MORRO Partnerships, which has 20 developments in the West Midlands, helped out at the Birmingham Toylink appeal as part of its commitment to being better community makers and giving back to the areas it provides homes in. Organised by Birmingham City Mission, the Christmas Toylink helps to distribute gifts to thousands of children in the West Midlands whose families are struggling to make ends meet.
The Toylink appeal relies on the generosity and compassion for those who are less fortunate, with staff from MORRO’s office in Cannock giving up their time to help those in need. MORRO employees, including Suki Deol, (Head of People), Vicky Laird (Infrastructure Manager) and Matt Willett (Head of Estimating), helped to provide gifts for children of all ages, with many different presents from teddy bears and dinosaur booklets to board games and DVDs.
Neil Sheldon of Birmingham City Mission, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and humanity displayed the volunteers from MORRO Partnerships.
“Thousands of children who may otherwise not have received a Christmas present will now do so thanks to this collective effort, and it was great to have MORRO to contribute towards that.” Chris Timmins, Managing Director at MORRO said: “It’s fantastic for us to have been a part of such a worthy cause which will make a real difference to many within the community.
“We pledge to become better community makers and to put a smile on the face of children in the region who are less fortunate is incredibly enriching and rewarding.” Previously named Jessup Partnerships for over 30 years, the developer has recently re-branded to MORRO Partnerships.
